Gwen Pierce, is the visionary and founder of TheChocolateVoice.com, a lifestyle and cultural online magazine, focusing on promoting positive stories and events within African American and multicultural communities. Originally from Tucson Arizona, she has lived in San Diego, since 1977. Gwen holds a Bachelors Degree from San Diego State University, in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Gwen created The Chocolate Voice originally as a newsletter in 2007. First launching in Tucson, The Chocolate Voice uniquely focused on the positive contributions of people in the community. A self-described people person, she enjoys sharing on social media, talking with colorful, positive influences and says, over the years has developed into what she calls, a passion for conversation. Gwen has been a member of San Diego Association of Black Journalists since 2010, and was recognized as SDABJ Member of the Year in 2016. She currently serves as chapter Secretary.
