“Missing: Reporting When Kids Disappear” was a panel held by the San Diego Association of Black Journalists on Oct. 1, 2013 to discuss the media coverage surrounding missing children. Our panelists talked about how newsrooms make the decision to cover missing children, who is being covered, if the coverage is fair, and the challenges newsrooms face in dealing with this topic. The evening included insight from Artie Ojeda (NBC 7),  Laura Wingard (UT San Diego, and Phil Farrar (journalist), Chida Warren (Voice & Viewpoint) as well as Darrell Foxworth from the FBI.
