2020 has brought two words into common usage; unprecedented and pivot. SDABJ is not immune to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic so in these unprecedented time we are going to pivot to holding our signature Pro for a Day event online on Saturday, November 7th starting at 9 a.m. While we will not be able to give our students the hands-on day-in-the life experience like normal, the day, being offered free of charge, promises to be full of valuable information delivered by the best journalists in the business.
The day will begin with a panel discussion including Angel Jennings from the LA Times, and NBC Universal’s Anzio Williams. The day will feature the incomparable Dana Littlefield leading the writing primer. David Poller will share his knowledge of being a print photojournalist. NBC 7 news producer Keith Bryant will handle the anatomy of a news broadcast. Social media will be covered by the San Diego Union Tribune’s Abby Hamblin.
