Kristin Currin-Sheehan shares the impact of receiving the SDABJ scholarship, “Being the first recipient of the SDABJ scholarship put me on the map with our culture, for the first time in my life and navigated my career success. It takes grit to work hard and tirelessly to make something of ourselves coming from hometowns where we may have been unrecognized. It takes diligence to push ourselves into college and University spaces and be counted among the smart and worthy.
