Mock news conference

Due to a scheduling conflict, we pushed up SDABJ Pro For A Day a week earlier. The details are now updated below.

Don’t miss out on a valuable experience to work with professional journalists for an entire day on Saturday,P1090783 October 7.  Join the San Diego Association of Black Journalists at Southwestern College, 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA, for Pro For a Day. We will meet in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) rooms L238 North and South. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM, and the program starts PROMPTLY at 9 AM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Come prepared to work hard, learn a lot, and have fun. Registration closes on Saturday, September 30, so don’t delay!

    Join SDABJ on Saturday, October 7, 2023 for a chance to learn from the pros.

    At this event you'll learn the fundamentals of journalism from a group of professionals working in the field today. You'll also get the chance to learn tricks of the trade, get career advice from hiring managers and connect with students with similar interests.

    The event is FREE, however non-Southwestern students will have to pay $3 for parking. The day includes breakfast and lunch.

    WHEN: Oct. 7, 2023

    WHERE: LRC Building Rooms L238 North & South at Southwestern College. Park in Lot H

    TIME: Check-in 8:30 AM Program 9 AM-4 PM.

    Don't be late! We will begin right at 9 AM.

    Each student can choose to work in one of four different areas. Each area will be led by a "pro" from the field. Note: Cameras will not be provided for the photgraphy section. Please make sure to bring your own.
