Raquel Martin is a senior journalism major and political science minor at San Diego State University.
For over a year she has worked as a staff writer for the news section in the university’s award winning student newspaper, The Daily Aztec. Raquel also hosts a morning talk show on the campus radio station, KCR, where she and her co-host discuss current events locally, nationally and even internationally. She also does freelance writing in the San Diego region and has written for publications such as the Voice and Viewpoint San Diego.
Raquel now holds a student government position at SDSU as the Associated Students representative for the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts. Raquel is also a member of the Marketing and Communications Committee for the University.
Raquel currently works as a communication assistant for SDSU’s Enrollment Services where she manages social network posts and covers various events around campus.
Raquel, who is originally from Long Beach, California, aspires to work in broadcast news reporting upon graduating from SDSU in May 2014.
